clergy and in response to inquiries on what the Church in the Philippines is doing to address such issues if and when they occur here.
Bishop Afable named Coadjutor Bishop of Digos, Davao del Sur
Pope John Paul II has appointed a Coadjutor Bishop for the Diocese of Digos (Davao del Sur).
Accepting the request of Digos Bishop Generoso C. Camiņa, PME, for a coadjutor bishop, he has named Bishop Guillermo V. Afable, presently Auxiliary Bishop of Davao, to the position.
Bp. de la Cruz installed Bishop of San Jose de Antique
Exactly a year to the day he was appointed as
Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of San jose de Antique, Bishop Romulo T. de la Cruz was installed as its third Diocesan Bishop during ceremonies held at the Cathedral in San Jose de
Buenavista. He succeeds Bishop Raul Q. Martirez, whose resignation was accepted by the Holy Father on March 16, 2002.
