Diocesan directors of liturgy set meeting in September

CEBU, August 11 -- The 17th National Meeting of Diocesan Directors of Liturgy, organized by the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Liturgy, will be held on September 2 to 6 at the Holy Family Retreat House in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.

The format of the forthcoming assembly is distinct from other previous meetings in that the September gathering will be a working convention or series of  workshops to review the 1999 Guidelines for the Eucharist approved by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines in the light of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) 2002 and the Philippine experience.

The proposed schedule for the five-day meeting features workshops by groups in the morning, plenum in the afternoon, and socials, cultural shows and tours in the evening.

Msgr. Cris Garcia, Cebu Archdiocesan Liturgy director, and Fr. Mon Ofredo are coordinating arrangements for the convention, with the support of Cebu Archbishop Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal.

The registration fee for the convention is P1,500.  Interested participants are requested to contact Fr. Mon Ofredo (0917-3228502) or Sister Susan (0917-7879729) for registration or further inquiries.
